The Global Silicon Valley (GSV) investment platform selected industry leaders from among two thousand businesses based on criteria such as scale and revenue growth, user reach, and global presence. According to GSV estimates, the 150 companies on the list reach approximately three billion people and collectively generate over $23 billion in revenue annually. These businesses make learning more accessible for children and adults, aiding in higher education and acquiring new skills throughout life.
"The world is adapting to seismic shifts caused by the development of generative AI last year. AI co-pilots, AI tutors, AI content generators — AI is ubiquitous, and the need for differentiation is more critical than ever. After a year of shifts and brave new beginnings, many EdTech companies are now embracing the opportunity and the future. This year’s GSV 150 embodies just that," states the GSV 150 introduction.
All companies on the GSV 150 list are categorized by country of origin and work focus. The most represented regions are North America (61%), India (15%), and Europe (12%). The number of companies from these regions has increased compared to 2023. While having a worldwide audience, Headway is the only company on the list located in Eastern Europe.
Forty-nine percent of businesses focus exclusively on developing professional skills, 47% on children's education, and 35% on higher education. Again, their numbers have noticeably increased compared to the previous year. Additionally, 16% of companies focus on lifelong learning.
"The fact that Headway has been included in this list for the second time confirms the significance of our mission — to transform education and make it accessible and innovative. The microlearning method offered by Headway's products minimizes users' time and effort, demonstrating high efficiency. Our work is changing how people learn and develop, and we take pride in that," comments Anton Pavlovsky, CEO and founder of Headway.
